About Harvest Gardens
Harvest Gardens is a community outreach of First Evangelical Free Church in Maplewood, started in 2009 to share the land God has provided and to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ.
Gardens are available to anyone, without cost, on a first come basis. Garden plots are 15 feet by 15 feet, arranged in groups of four and surrounded by paths. Water is available from spigots located at 70 foot intervals around the garden area.
Gardeners come from many communities around the Twin Cities, a diverse mixture of cultures and languages.
Several plots are set aside for a Giving Garden, grown and tended by volunteers for area food shelves. Gardeners are welcome to contribute produce from their own gardens. Deliveries take place two or three times weekly.
Harvest Gardens is coordinated by volunteers and financed by donations.
